Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

As an international organization, we wanted to have a solution that would allow us to have a centrally-managed deployment solution for all our branches. PRAS simplifies it.
  • Application publishing.
  • Simplified management.
  • IT-Farm organization.
  • Price.
  • Sales support is embarrassing, arrogant till non-existent (technical is perfect though).
  • Centralised IT-management for different branches across the globe.
Citrix is much more expensive and MAS lacks some features that PRAS has out of the box.
It's exactly what we needed. Some of our local branches in Asia and Eastern Europe are really small (up to 10 people) and cannot afford local IT technician. PRAS allows us to deploy all software to employees even there.
Thanks to PRAS we can again use almost any device, even old ones since they became practically thin clients. Software gets delivered from the server.
We don't use that many different technologies, but PRAS perfectly allows us to combine in a single delivery object different applications from different RDS hosts. That's really practical, since being a consulting firm, we work a lot with various monstrous ERP systems. And it's always better to have just them installed on a host.
We are using PRAS directly over the internet. So far so good! We'll see if it stays so over time as PRAS becomes more popular. It's still a Windows Host looking outside...
I have to say that I must divide sales and technical support.

And as soon as I divide it - the number becomes apparent: 0 for sales support, 10 for technical support.

The technical support is just the best. Technicians care, very responsive, and dealt even with severe cases (we had multiple). They are always ready to get some ideas about new features too, and they get implemented in new releases.

Sales support is a catastrophe! I got our first 50-users license contracted through a friend, who worked at Parallels at that time. Now he's gone. Since then it's a nightmare! Arrogant sales personnel from Malta always try to push prices per user higher (even when I buy more!). Almost blackmailing asking for more per user assuming that once implemented, the company will pay higher rates rather than migrating. In our case, only partially true. Last time had contact with them the end of 2019, got a promise they'll contact back because of a month-long vacation (!) - never happened.
