Overall Satisfaction with Paycom

We went live in April of 2025. Paycom's HRIS system appears to have the capability to completely streamline the hiring process, from recruiting to onboarding, and even integrate employees' expense reimbursements into payroll, while also complying with the ACA and COBRA. My role is that of an ADMIN user; I serve as the Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Pros

  • Manager on the Go App.
  • Approve My Pay Check.
  • Onboarding
  • I-9s
  • Garnishments

Cons

  • IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SOFTWARE.
  • We actually lost employees after implementation due to complications with use, too much change, the platform's massive size, and insufficient training for all aspects of the Paycom system.
  • It's been two months since going LIVE, and I still feel like I need training...and I am a "figure it out" kinda person!
Paycom is great for identifying errors within payroll; however, the ATS system is not so much.
A few kinks here and there but overall it is going well.
We chose Paycom for the Compliance factor and the hands off from HR perspective and more hands on for employees.

Do you think Paycom delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Paycom's feature set?

Yes

Did Paycom live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paycom go as expected?

No

Would you buy Paycom again?

No

I have almost 30 years of payroll experience. And, if I say that it is difficult to find something in Paycom that is common in other Payroll platforms, it is because PAYROLL IS PAYROLL; the verbiage may change; however, I struggle with the REPORTS within Paycom. I'm not IT and I do not want to CREATE FROM SCRATCH every common payroll report: New Hire, Terminations, missing punches (the canned report does not include Supervisors; only their employee code - this is not very helpful); No available support during implementation process; I had to call in several times and was told (1) I'm not an authorized agent [I'm second in command within Paycom]; (2) sat on hold for 45 minutes.

Paycom Training

I just think in person training is better suited for such a massive platform.
