Paycom Review
Overall Satisfaction with Paycom
We use it for payroll primarily. What it really helps us do though is give us central data, paperless data for performance reviews, disciplinary conversations, any kind of documentation. We've been able to reduce anywhere from around 10 file cabinets down to three because we're able to store much more information in Paycom now. In addition to, we can do online vacation requests, which makes it easier for our managers and our employees.
Pros
- Before Paycom we were using Paylocity and in about six months of running payroll with Paylocity, we never once had 100% accuracy from a payroll standpoint. So we had disgruntled employees because either their time was off or their pay was off. With Paycom, we've never had a case where our payroll was not 100% accurate.
Cons
- Our only con, which we haven't experienced lately was just more from a customer service, a backend support standpoint. When the system was new to us, we had a payroll person that had been there for a long time, had been processing payroll through paper and it was hard for her when she had questions to get ahold of our customer service representative. At the time, that hasn't been an issue over the past few years, but initially that was probably our biggest con with Paycom.
- I don't know if I can quantify it with a number, but obviously just the automation has helped tremendously in reducing any kind of errors that we've had previously, either doing payroll through paper or with Paylocity. We had consistent errors with them. Where here, I don't know that I can quantify it with a number necessarily, but the errors have been reduced tremendously by using Paycom versus Paylocity or processing it manually.
Honestly, I don't have a lot of experience with other systems using them fully. When I used Workday, I was generally just in recruiting, so I didn't really have a lot of access. I know that when we handled our payroll through paper, we had files all over the place where with Paycom we know we can go in there. I can see whether I want to see a writeup, whether I want to see somebody's last pay stub, their tax forms, I have all that and I can find it easily in the system.
I mean it's helped it tremendously. Our workflow, the way that we can customize a workflow, has helped us making sure that our documentation is 100% on point. Because if we do a writeup, we set up the proper workflow and we can make sure that every I is dotted, T is crossed. From a progressive discipline standpoint, anybody that gets a raise goes through a proper workflow. We know that we never miss a step or forget to get somebody's signature on a documentation. So it's really helped us tighten up a lot of processes and just made us overall more accountable, made sure our processes are more accountable.
