Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

This is our payroll, timekeeping and HR system. We run all payroll through Paylocity. Some of our employees punch in and out through Paylocity (we import some of our punch times as well) and I utilize most HR functions within Paylocity. I use the time off, performance, compensation, data insights, benefits, surveys and the learning management system.

We have 13 locations across the US so the ability to electronically perform our performance reviews has been wonderful! The online learning management system has really made it much easier to assign trainings, track trainings, etc. Being able to survey my employees (confidentially or not) has been wonderful. This is engaging for employees and a great way to get new ideas and all employees feeling involved.

Pros

  • The community feature is great! An awesome way to get my employees engaged, involved and kept up to date.
  • The service aspect of Paylocity has been really easy to use. I have one main contact and get responses to my questions or issues in a very timely fashion.
  • The ability to import some of our time punches from our own internal system is so easy with Paylocity. We can import our punches which then feed directly into payroll.

Cons

  • I would like the ability to set up my own customized GL reports and not have to contact Paylocity every time i have something change or a new position I'm adding.
  • The dashboard on the performance function should be customizable. I wish it woudln't go directly to the current dashboard as it's empty for us.
  • As the administrator, I wish I could impersonate an employee completely. When I can impersonate, it still shows me what the admin screens look like and not what my employee is actually seeing through their own log in.
  • With 13 locations across the US, there was a lot of scanning, printing and signing of performance reviews that were going back and forth. With the implementation of Performance Reviews within Paylocity, we have been able to get rid of the paperwork that was going back and forth which has saved us time and effort.
  • The data insights allow you to really drill down to position, manager, location, etc in terms of turnover. Being able to quickly and easily see where we might be having the biggest issues has been amazing.
It used to take almost an entire day to process payroll on our old system. We also manually tracked all time off. With the implementation of Paylocity, we have gotten that payroll time down to less than an hour (and nobody has to track time off taken or given for 200 plus employees).
I plan on setting up the automated performance review assignments in the next few months which will allow for less admin on my end.
Over 50% of our employees don't have work emails. It has always been very difficult to communicate effectively with everyone. With Community, we can now reach every employee. Our communication has increased which in turn has increased our employee engagement. Creating groups in Paylocity has allowed our employees to feel more comfortable and begin posting themselves through Community.
I love using the survey feature! THis allows for us to find out exactly what our employees are feeling or wanting and then acting on those results.
I do feel that this has increased our employee engagement and is sending us in the right direction to keep engagement going.
I have also used Kronos but it's not coming up as an option.

Paylocity is hands down better than ADP and Kronos in my opinion. The reporting features in Paylocity are so much more user friendly. The service I received when using Kronos was terrible and extremely frustrating and i could never get a solid answer. Paylocity has a great service set up and I always get an answer right away.

Paylocity had everything I was looking for within one system. This is ideal for my employees.

I am the Director of HR and utilize Paylocity on a daily basis. All of my employee data is housed in Paylocity as well as our performance reviews, compensation requests, and benefit information. It's easy to send trainings to my employees through Paylocity (either trainings we created ourselves or the canned trainings provided by Paylocity). I use the Learning Management system for our annual required Sexual Harrassment training as well. The more I can do in Paylocity with my employees the better.
