Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We utilize Paylocity for timekeeping, payroll, recruitment (including applicant tracking), onboarding, benefits, document management...
Paylocity handles our payroll taxes, quarterly reporting, W-2s, 1095s - everything we need to ensure we are in compliance with state and federal payroll and benefit laws!
Takes pressure off me and my team to spend on other things.

  • Implementation teams. They say they can get you up and running in 60 days - allow more time! Some people need additional training, never assume.
  • Policy review. Your payroll policies may make sense to you, doesn't mean their teams will see it the same way you do.
  • Inter-departmental communications. Timekeeping doesn't always communicate well with payroll, which doesn't always communicate well with benefits. Ensuring that when one area interacts with another, each department understands their role helps.
  • Easier to get the supervisors involved
  • Reduces errors! Automates more processes so less opportunity for mistakes
  • WYSIWIG - What you see is what you get. Processes MAKE SENSE
Process time has sped up, so we spend less time on actual administration. Less time on input, as the data transfers means more time to work on other projects.
Increased interaction between employees and departments. When an employee sees another employee go above and beyond - or just wants to say "thanks" - they post that on community and everyone is able to see it. Morale increases and more people use it!
Our former provider used to be the gold standard. However, with Paylocity we receive more direct, quick responses to issues - without having to go through an automated system just to be directed to the wrong person. Paylocity also provides longer hours for customer service support. If I'm running a report or processing payroll outside the usual 8a-5p, I can still get assistance.

Overall I believe Paylocity is an amazing organization and offers excellent service. Growing pains of transitioning from something we know well, pain points and all, to something new and different is always difficult. However, the longer we use the system, and the more comfortable we become with it - the more we learn and the more we use, it's a motivating circle of influence!
My only caveat is to allow as much time as possible in the implementation. There is a LOT to learn, lot to study, and lot to adjust/correct in the beginning. I fully believe 90 - 120 days is a more realistic time frame for a complete implementation.
