Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity for its integrated functions across all HR & Payroll functions. We use the recruiting and onboarding modules for our new hires and enjoy the seamless integration of getting them from applicant to employee. We use Time & Labor which rolls right into HR & Payroll. We use Workflows & Documents to track policy agreements and to store all personnel files electronically on the system. We use Community and the Impressions program for employee engagement. We use Performance to document coaching conversations, warnings, and PIPs as well as 90-day and annual reviews. We occasionally use Surveys, but not enough at this time to upgrade to the Pro version.
Pros
- integration across all modules
- community and groups within community
- clocking function on the app
- managing payroll is straightforward
Cons
- getting "timed out" of a module and losing all your work when you are in the middle of writing a long journal entry or job description or just for no reason at all
- would love to have the ability to see all active candidates on one dashboard instead of having to click into each job then into the correct stage
- I wish we could go back to when we could email a daily report to anyone instead of having to go and pick it up...and not being able to have some people pick up the report because of their permission level
- More options for setting up review templates that weren't so clunky
- Being able to set up my own user roles and groups with the permissions I want without having to go through support
- Recruiting module reduced paperwork and manual processes saving time and money
- Punch map in Time & Labor reduced the number of employees punching in "on their way to work" saving the company money
- the integration between all of the modules saves significant amounts of time
The new Time Card Correction feature has been wonderful. I used to have to reach out to employees when they forgot to clock in/out and wait for them to get back to me. Now as soon as they recognize their missed punch they can submit the correction. The integration between the recruiting, onboarding, and HR&Payroll modules saves a lot of time.
We have set up a few groups in Community for team members to share their pet photos, favorite meals, and vacation photos. This has been a fun way for our less vocal team members to contribute. We also use Impressions and encourage our team members to recognize their teammates who are helping out or going above and beyond.
SAP was clunky and not always user-friendly. To get anything but the most basic reports you had to have the HRIS Analyst build them. We had several integration issues between our ATS and HR system. Paylocity has a solid number of basic reports and building custom reports is fairly straightforward.
