Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Paylocity primarily for the payroll portion of the platform. It works very well and it easy to understand. The ability for employees to easily update/change their individual deductions is a significant improvement. We also enjoy the "Expense" module since it helps to facilitate semimonthly expense reimbursements. We recently added the FSA feature, which has made administration much easier.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Overall, processing payroll is easy to maneuver and streamlines processes.
The ability for employees to make personalized changes on their own is user-friendly.
The monthly updates regarding various HR changes is helpful.

Cons

The Expense module is good, but it can be significantly better; the ability for an admin to change a category should be a basic change we can make, but is currently unavailable.
The customer service needs to be improved; the turn-around time for resolving issues used to be two or three days at the most... now many issues will go on for weeks without a response.

The automation with payroll works very well. Running payrolls is very easy.

Paylocity Employee Engagement

While most of our employees haven't used the engagement tools, employees have found the ability to manage their individual payroll settings to be a significant improvement over their previous provider.

Alternatives Considered

ADP Comprehensive Services

Even though it has been a long time, I believe Paylocity's interface for running payroll to be superior and much more intuitive than others'. The interface hasn't changed too much in the years that we've been using the system, but I like that - everything is easy to find figure out.

Likelihood to Recommend

The main HR organization and payroll processing is very good. Modules, like "Expense", could use some improvements to make processes for administrators easier to deal with. The FSA module is also good once everyone is properly set, but I had to contact customer service several times before I completely understood what was necessary to properly set all the employees.
