Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity for payroll, pay increases and general document filing - like notes about someone's pay increase, performance reviews, disciplinary actions and termination. We also use it for onboarding employees. It takes a lot of the guess work out of us having to receive all this data from employees and then store it physically somewhere on the property.
Pros
- paid time off requests and set limits
- payment on demand for employees
- Sync with our 401k 3rd system
Cons
- a more customizable Home Screen to see everything at a glance
- more real time timecard visual to be able to see how much we've spent thus far and if we need to release some employees for the day
- a little more AI based help functions
- increase productivity
- less time searching for physical documents and easily storage of individual employee data
- on demand payment quality of life for employees
- PTO visible on the app for employees
We haven't used those tools specifically due to where we our located our talent pool is small.
In regards to employee retention I think ease of access to PTO, on demand payment for early payout, holiday pay generation and seamless integration into 401k program makes a lot of employees satisfied.

Community acknowledgment and engagement I think helps employees in different departments acknowledge other employees and also gives them insight into those different departments - like someone wishing another person happy birthday or congratulations on a promotion. Some of our employees that work offsite might never know about those things otherwise.
a lot more features and ability to track employees a lot better. ADP I still use for another one of my business units (14 employees) it gets the job done for payroll, but it lacks timecards for faster payroll processing and no file storage where you can easily find different documents.
