Pros
- Paylocity excels at providing an all-in-one platform that integrates payroll, time and labor management, HR, and employee engagement tools
- Paylocity’s customizable reporting and analytics offer valuable insights to support strategic HR and business decisions.
- The system handles complex payroll processing reliably and streamlines compliance-related tasks through automated reporting and document acknowledgements
Cons
- I can tell that an engineer wrote the system and did not work with an HR department when the system was originally rolled out. There are some things that don't make sense from an HR standpoint...warnings are viewable by the employee as soon as the warning is initiated...not when it's completed and approved.
- Mobile app should mirror what is on a PC
- Allows up the ability to quickly look at our turnover rates by location
- Reduced hours of time spent each week submitting manual timecards and then importing those into payroll.
- So much less manual which equates to so many less errors.
This has allowed our Branch Managers across the country (64 of them) to focus on running their locations and not having to spend extra time completing timecard spreadsheets and sending to payroll. Our accounting team now imports a GL file directly into our accounting software. Prior to Paylocity, the file was being manually manipulated and took hours to prepare for import.
Paylocity’s employee engagement tools have had a positive impact on communication, connection, and overall culture within our organization. The Community feature has become a central hub for sharing company news, celebrating achievements, and fostering transparency across locations. Peer Recognition (Impressions) has helped boost morale by giving employees a simple way to acknowledge each other’s contributions, which supports a more positive and supportive workplace. We’ve also used Surveys to gather employee feedback on key initiatives and workplace changes, giving us actionable insights to improve engagement and retention. Overall, these tools have made it easier to keep our teams informed, involved, and appreciated.
We chose Paylocity over ADP, Paycom and Kronos because it offered a better balance of functionality, user experience, and customer support tailored to our organizational needs. Paylocity’s platform felt more modern and intuitive, especially for our employees and managers who use it daily for time tracking, communication, and document acknowledgements. The engagement tools—like Community, Impressions, and Surveys—were more robust and better integrated into the core HR functions, helping us foster a stronger company culture. Additionally, Paylocity provided more flexibility in reporting and a more responsive implementation and support team, which made the transition smoother and more collaborative.
