Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used mainly by the network team but is also known to be used by a certain server team, to monitor up/down status of various network devices as well as circuit utilization and other vital stats on the devices.

Pros and Cons

Monitor up/down status.
Provides historical and current data of utilization of circuits.
Has numerous sensors of different variables to monitor.

Would like to see a more intuitive user interface.
Provide backup configs where necessary.
Update MIBs for more compatibility.

Return on Investment

For the costs it has a very good ROI.

Alternatives Considered

We still use SolarWinds alongside PRTG. SolarWinds has a lot more features and functionality than PRTG.

Support Rating

There isn't a number to call for support, so it's all done through email. Can be frustrating sometimes if you can't get someone on the phone right away.
