Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online
We use QuickBooks Online for our core accounting package. QuickBooks Online allows our staff to perform critical accounting tasks via a web-based platform. Monthly financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet) are prepared in QuickBooks Online. We also use the bill payment feature, which allows us to pay our vendors with ACH (primarily) or check. This has helped reduce admin time. We also have set up workflows for approvals of accounts payable invoices. This has helped alleviate duplicate reviews of vendor invoices and helped with vendor invoices not getting returned to the accounts payable clerk for entry into QuickBooks. Overall, we are pleased with QuickBooks Online.
Pros
- Workflows for accounts payable invoice review are terrific.
- Bill payment allows you to pay vendors online via ACH or check without having to write a physical check, which reduces admin time.
- The cloud based login lends well to a remote or hybrid work environment for staff.
- QuickBooks Online allows you to pre-configure vendors' general ledger expense accounts. This helps with general ledger coding accuracy and consistency.
- QuickBooks Online integrates with Rippling HRIS, Coast, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, etc., which lends well to an efficient month-end closing and reduced administrative time.
Cons
- QuickBooks provides us with all the functionality we need for our business. We are very pleased with the product and we are really not experiencing any pain points in particular.
- QuickBooks Online has saved tremendous time with duplicate reviews of accounts payable invoices. By establishing workflows inside the system, we have not only eliminated time spent reviewing invoices, but we have also reduced the amount of time our accounts payable clerk spends entering vendor bills.
- We pay our vendors via ACH or check directly out of QuickBooks Online, which has reduced administrative time spent printing out checks, putting them in an envelope, and mailing them out. We have also noticed a lot more checks getting lost in the mail, and as a result, we have happier vendors because they know they are going to receive their payment.
- We are able to work in a fully remote setting without having to log in to a terminal server. This has been helpful for us in moving to a remote work setting.
QuickBooks Online is an accounting software package that allows companies to use a cost-effective and efficient software package. QuickBooks Online allows companies to prepare their balance sheets and income statements. It connects with a variety of other applications, which allows you to be efficient. We are very pleased with QuickBooks Online, and we would highly recommend it.
