Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online

QBO is used for all of our accounting. The software manages our time keeping, payroll, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. It also connects with our 401K platform.

Pros

  • Financial reporting - including A/R, A/P, P&L, Balance Sheets
  • Time Keeping
  • Payroll
  • Client Invoicing
  • Reminders of late payments / Tracking of Client Payments
  • Linking to bank accounts

Cons

  • Customer Service - It is difficult to get issues resolved in a timely manner
  • Inventory Control - QBO is not set up for all industries - specifically construction / manufacturing
  • More adapative AI would be a good feature
  • QBO is competitive in price to Sage, but offers better features for our business.
  • Having QBO for time tracking, payroll, and being directly linked to our 401K system, Guideline, saves time and money.
It is user friendly. The constant updates are annoying, especially when the software updates have bugs that their backend has not cleared prior to release. - This is a common problem with each software update. - They need a better software QC dept.
We went with QBO for ease of use over Sage.

QBO is a good plug and play software that is easy to use. That said it is also very easy to make major errors in bookkeeping as there are not good double checks for screens that are vital. Example in the Products and services...if something is entered incorrectly it effects the multiple areas within the chart of accounts.
