Overall Satisfaction with RealVNC

RealVNC is being used for a small subset of servers within my organization. We share the connections with the IT Department, as it provides a more secure and has better performance connecting to our servers than Remote Desktop. The quickness of connecting with a strong encryption lets us access tools and applications we need quickly and efficiently.
  • Encryption (Paid version)
  • Performance
  • Reliability
  • Visually nice and unobstructed simple GUI
  • None!
  • Great ROI based on performance over Remote Desktop
  • Ease of use
TeamViewer seems to crash often, causing the TeamViewer host to have to be restarted. The performance isn't comparable to RealVNC and the GUI isn't very intuitive. TeamViewer does shine better when using it for external connections, but RealVNC is moe lightweight and adaptable as an internal solution. If you're working with internal servers, use RealVNC.
RealVNC shines when you need internal access to servers, tools, or applications. The encryption, speed, and reliability let it shine in a true IT world. I do not recommend opening up RealVNC for external use and strongly encourage internal use only. I also do not recommend giving non-IT or non-tech savvy users access to RealVNC. We found that it causes too many headaches and demands.
