- Rubrik Polaris
Overall Satisfaction with Rubrik
We are using Rubrik for our entire server environment. We also use the archive feature as well as Polaris for PCI/PII monitoring. We love having read-only backups to restore from in case of any compromises. We use Polaris to make sure data is kept where it belongs and is not misused.
- Ease of backup.
- Ease of recovery.
- Ease of management.
- Not being able to backup Windows 10.
- Compression and deduplication could be improved.
- Initial investment is costly but well worth it.
- It has saved us time and money in all of our real world scenarios.
Rubrik is far easier to use. It is less expensive. It doesn't make use of space as efficiently as EMC Avamar did. Integration was simple and use/management is easy and straightforward.
Rubrik, being read-only, would help in a ransomware attack to at least go to the last good backup and recover without having to pay the ransom. This is one of the main reasons for our purchasing decision.
We currently do not use this feature but will be looking into it in the near future.
We have a smaller department, so access to the system is already limited. We do love the dual factor authentication feature that was recently implemented for an extra level of security and protection.
