Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
We use Sage Intacct as our primary accounting/finance software.
- General Ledger Accounting
- Purchasing
- Approval process for purchasing
- The reporting system could be more user-friendly in creating financial reports
- The fixed asset system could be more user-friendly and have better reporting
- It would be nice to close both prior periods and future periods to prevent posting in the future
- Sage Intacct has made it feasible to handle a larger volume of accounting transactions without increasing the overall team
There is one place to pull all information and it is much easier for multiple people to work in the system compared to QuickBooks. The automation has allowed for us to be more productive behind and close earlier than we would have been able to without the system.
We use multi-entity and global consolidations. We are currently implementing project accounting. The global consolidations works fine, I would recommend that if someone is transitioning to Sage Intacct and is considering the need for multi-currency reporting that they add it at the beginning instead of after go-live if at all possible. It just makes things much cleaner.
The organization I came from used SAP - while good for large organizations, it is really too much for small to mid-sized organizations. QuickBooks didn't really offer enough internal controls for us. Sage Intacct seemed to be a good fit for us. The price was reasonable for the system we needed at the time and is able to scale with our company as we grow. It was really a toss-up between NetSuite and Intacct - in the end Intacct was our choice.
