Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We use Sage Intacct as our ERP across the organization. It is used as GL, AP, AR, as well as for time sheets, budgeting, employee onboarding/off-boarding, performance evaluations, ticketing, etc. We are heavy users of their dashboard technology across the organization and enjoy multiple dimensions to slice and dice data as needed.
  • Dashboards are very user-friendly and robust. I use at least half a dozen dashboards for various business needs.
  • Platform Services are very powerful for automation and additional custom system building.
  • Dimensions allow us to slice and dice data as needed.
  • Powerful API allows easy integration with third-party systems.
  • Cell phone app does not exist.
  • Additional modules (i.e. budgeting, interactive reporting) cost extra.
  • We managed to downsize at least 5 positions in finance team alone due to efficient processes in Intacct.
  • Accross the board time saved by doing approvals electronically and viewing reports on demand.
  • No longer storing hard copy documents saves storage costs.
  • Low implementation cost makes ROI very high.
Yes, we have. We automated billing to customers along with third party processor application to allow swift and easy revenue collection. AP is automated to generate ACH upload file for our bank integration. GL accounts are automated through various smart rules and smart events to save time. Credit card transactions for 200+ credit cards are loaded automatically to expense reports using API to allow easy reconciliation.
We use multi-entity, project accounting, time and expense and multiple in-house developed custom applications. They work seamlessly with each other to provide efficient processes accross the platform. We use time and expense module to collect timesheets accross the organization and to collect expense reports from employees. We integrated it with our credit card company to generate expense reports from credit card statements automatically .
We managed to integrate it with Salesforce, Datatel, 2CP and various other third party systems fairly easily. Data automatically flows from Salesforce to Intacct using middleware (workato).
Sage Intacct is superior than these systems. We reviewed them during RFP process and picked Sage Intaccts for its ease of use, cloud platform capabilities and ability to customize.
Sage Intacct is great as an accouting system and provides insights into business operations with ability to store statistical non-financial data and display in dashboards and reports. New interactive report writer is very powerful and will make excel report manipulation obsolete. We use Intacct well in most of our foreign subsidiaries and it works well with multi-currency.

Not-For-Profit Usage

Dashboards- information at our fingertips.
Multiple dimensions- we can easily slice and dice data any way we want.
Platform services - we can code custom applications to solve business needs.
  • 2CP payment processing
  • Salesforce
  • US bank credit card feed
In one case, we used middleware and a third party to help us configure. In another case, vendor did it in 15 minutes. And one integration we did in-house fairly easily, thanks to robust API.
Yes. We use dashboards for each employee. I personally have 5-6 dashboards- one for cash flow, one for PP&E, one for approval flows, one for fringe benefit rate tracking.
We do not use this functionality.
Sage Intacct implementation cleared up endless hours for my team and other employees in the organization, which we can all spend more on mission-enhancing activities.

Evaluating Sage Intacct and Competitors

Yes - Datatel. It was an outdated system from 1990s, without cloud architecture, no routing capability, no document storage, with a single dimensional general ledger and constant need for maintenance. It also required significant number of staff to support its functionality. We also replaced timesheet system with Sage Intacct and rolled it out to 40+ countries, where we replaced myriad of other accounting systems.

We needed a system that can carry us into 21st century. Something that would not require us to upgrade the system ourselves every other month. With Sage Intacct’s cloud architecture, we are getting quarterly updates without need to touch a button. Functionality continues to improve every quarter and improvements tend to never stop even after 5 years.
We ran a pretty robust RFP process, but if I had to re-do it, I would add access to the platform services as a must for any system we would consider in the RFP process.

Using Sage Intacct

It is an excellent system, meeting all our needs. Users love it and we use it for all kinds of non-financial tasks.
