Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is a very important part of our financial reporting cycle. We regularly use the General Ledger, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, Accounts Payable, and Contracts modules. As a SaaS company, software subscriptions are our main revenue stream, so being able to use Intacct's contracts module to recognize revenue on these contracts is extremely importing for efficient and accurate reporting. We also use SaaS Intelligence, which is an additional add-on module. This product is revolutionary for our business and allows us to be able to report on SaaS-specific metrics that are important to key stakeholders.

Pros

  • Financial reporting with the ability to drill down on specific data
  • Many add-on modules that can be implemented as the company continues to scale
  • Customizable dashboards

Cons

  • The user interface can be kind of clunky
  • The cost of the product is increasing exponentially
  • The new AI features should be available at no extra cost (since the cost of the software is already really high)
  • Allows us to report on important SaaS metrics and provide to key stakeholders
  • Aids in efficient month-end close and financial reporting
  • High cost of Sage Intacct brings down the ROI however
The automatic matching in the cash management module is very helpful as it gives a great head start to bank reconciliations. The API between Expensify and Sage Intacct has also been very helpful for expense management and has helped to create a more scalable and efficient process for our growing company.
Contract revenue management has been critical to our success as the company has increased in customer and subscription count. With an API between Salesforce and Intacct, our contracts sync to Intacct and billing and revenue schedules are generated. I can't imagine what we would do without this module, as this module somewhat automates our billing and revenue recognition.
Sage Intacct is not the easiest in terms of configuration. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes configuration needed to get Intacct working in the way that it should be for your company. For example, introducing new products and configuring GL settings so that the associated revenue posts to the right account is difficult. It is complex and easy to forget how to do it when you aren't doing it often.
Selecting Sage Intacct was not a choice that I was part of as it pre-dates my time at the company.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

Sage Intacct is well-suited for a multi-entity company or a company wanting to grow and eventually introduce more entities. This is due to its ability to report in multiple currencies and consolidate at month-end. A smaller company that isn't very complex would not need a software as robust as Intacct.
