Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is used as our general ledger and is used to book all actuals. We use it to book everything across several different entities. We also book across multiple geographies and are able to use different exchange rates to account for local currencies. There is a lot of reporting that we also out of Sage Intacct. Additionally, it is connected to Snowflake to help us get full data into Snowflake as well.

Pros

  • Entities
  • Reporting
  • API connections to other systems

Cons

  • Not very user friendly
  • Requires experts to make any changes to systems
  • Sometimes clunky to use
  • Faster close leading to better decision making
  • Accuracy
  • Ability to customize access
We have benefited to a certain extent from the automation available with in Sage Intacct. However, there are still areas where this is a challenge. For example, our recons and flux analysis takes a lot of time and is still not as automated as we would like it to be.
We do use multi entity and global consolidations and this helped us a lot in being able to achieve close in a decent amount of time in spite of being in several countries and having a lot of entities and divisions. We do not use some of the other modules like expense management or contract revenue management.
This is one area where Sage Intacct seems to fall short of other leading vendors. We have had to rely on consultants to help configure or make changes at any time. It costs us a lot of time and money any time we need to make changes to it. Providing customer support for this would be very helpful.
We looked at and evaluated Sage Intacct along with Netsuite and Quickbooks. Given our size at the time, we felt Sage Intacct was best suited for our needs. Netsuite was much more expensive that Sage Intacct and Quickbooks did not quite have all the features that we needed. We were not impressed at all with Workday and quickly discarded it.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

No

Similar to what I said earlier, I have found it easy to use for good reporting once the reports are built out. However building out the reports are quite cumbersome and requires experts to come in to help us build them. Additionally, Sage Intacct has been been good at being able to use for multiple entities and geographies.
