Overall Satisfaction with Salesforce CMS

The product is used widely across most of the organisation and the commercial part of the business. We use it to track clients, prospects, marketing leads, quote generation, and contract management. The customer service team also uses it to log and answer client support tickets.

Pros

  • Opportunity Management.
  • Ease of use for the basic functionality.
  • Different integrations possible.

Cons

  • CPQ integration has a lot of faults.
  • Proactive insights into what is not being used in the platform so we can remove fields.
  • Include more report options.
  • Able to do accurate forecasting.
  • Integrations with other tools.
  • Speeding up deals.
It is quite easy to use if you are aware and familiar with the different error codes or know how to go around certain issues that can come up. The CPQ integration is hard to use for some and often does not work - it's not user-friendly. If not maintained regularly, the account/opp pages can get messy; they could benefit from some cleanup help.
We used the Catalyst product of Totango. It was not great as it was hard to navigate, and it did not offer any reporting capabilities at all, nor did it speed up our day-to-day tasks.

Salesforce is a great CMS for a business with teams that can manage the system continuously. It does not work for businesses where this would not be possible - it requires regular maintenance such as updating fields; otherwise, it would get messy and, most of all, inaccurate.
