Overall Satisfaction with SAP Concur

It is not easy to use Concur online. Takes way too long to add invoices and filter by them. It would benefit from some AI to make judgments based on the receipts. The mobile app doesn't integrate well with Microsoft sign-in, so I can't use that. Unfortunately, every corporation I've worked with has used Concur, and I don't have experience with alternatives. It manages the business problem of tracking employee expenses.

Pros

  • Data recording
  • Established brand

Cons

  • It is just so difficult to upload receipts.
  • Take too long, too manual.
  • Detect fraud
  • Tracks tips
  • SAP Concur
I haven't used an alternative corporate solution. However, when I was working with a mom-and-pop coffee shop years ago, they had an application that was much more user-friendly, albeit, less enterprise-ready.
Oracle, it integrates easily.
Tracking and categorizing expenses.
It manages them, just in a difficult to use way.

When uploading receipts and marking what they were used for. It doesn't seem to let you change things easily also. Or upload multiple receipts at once. To provide a concrete example, I travel significantly for work. In order to submit invoices for expenses, I have to separately upload 10-30 receipts. Spending 2-3 hours per trip to input all of the information into SAP Concur. For a platform with so many frequent travelers, there should be an automatic portion of this. I shouldn't have to edit each receipt. It should be able to handle a bulk upload and sort through the receipts with AI. I'm surprised that there isn't a competitor who has a solution that could save that time and headache and replace Concur. ROI-wise, let's say the average traveling business person is making $75/hour and is traveling 2x per month. Let's say the quicker employees can do their expense report in 1 hour - that is $75 per report. Now for a large enterprise, let's multiply that by 500 traveling employees per month at 2x per month. That's $75,000 monthly in employee time that could be saved and directed towards revenue-generating activities if a competitor came along and had a good system for sorting the receipts automatically.

SAP Concur Attributes

It works, but feels like very legacy technology. It is not intuitive or user friendly, and if you want to change something, you often have to restart the entire thing. It also feels very slow to update pages which can be frustrating when you are very busy and have to wait.
  • Not to be negative, but only positive is that it works.
  • User experience
  • Page load times
I wouldn't call it efficient compared to other travel and expense tools on the market, but it works and is better than doing it by hand.
Concur definitely scales well for us, we’ve rolled it out across multiple teams without too much hassle. I’d give it a 7 out of 10 overall. The big downside is the user experience. It’s clunky, not super intuitive, and kind of feels like it hasn't improved since 2005. Support requirements have been frustrating as well.
We were able to connect it with our other systems pretty smoothly, and the APIs worked well once we got the hang of them. It wasn’t necessarily easy, but with a little work, it came together. Overall, the integration process was better than average compared to other tools we’ve used.

Product Benefits

  • Standard Use Cases work
  • Keeps data for a long time
  • Helps track trends.
When Concur first rolled out, it made a huge difference—submitting expenses and booking travel suddenly got way easier compared to the old manual processes. It saved us a ton of time. These days, most of our team has never known anything else, so it just feels like the norm now. It’s still doing its job, but that initial time saving feeling has definitely worn off over time.
Hard to say how it stacks up against the competition since we’ve mostly just used Concur, but it does a decent job covering all the basics for expenses, travel, approvals, and reporting. Nothing really stands out as amazing, but it’s all in one place and gets the job done. Overall, I’d say it feels pretty middle of the road. It works, but that's the main positive I have for it.
Biggest success with Concur has been getting everyone on the same system for expenses and travel, it brought some much-needed consistency. Submitting and tracking expenses is way smoother than it used to be. One thing we’ve learned: train people early and often. The system’s not super intuitive, so a little upfront guidance saves a lot of frustration later. Once folks get used to it, it works fine, but there’s definitely a learning curve.

Using SAP Concur

15000 - Sales, marketing, channel, customer success, solutions engineering.
4 - Between managing integrations, updating policies, and helping users who run into trouble, it’s not a set it and forget it tool. It takes some ongoing attention to keep everything working well.
  • Travel management
  • Expense Management
Too hard to move away from it but open to it if a better platform comes along for the right price.

Evaluating SAP Concur and Competitors

  • Scalability
Needed something secure as well as scalable.
I don't think we would, we would just have more realistic expectations for level of support needed after purchasing.

SAP Concur Training

  • Online Training
  • No Training
Easy to learn but not intuitive, just have to click around a bit.
