Overall Satisfaction with ScreenConnect

I am the owner and only employee of a small technology solutions business. I also utilized independent contractors for various jobs. I currently use ScreenConnect for remote client support related to upgrade followup, software support, hardware/software troubleshooting and remote training. I also use it for business meetings with contractors and clients. ScreenConnect allows me to save time and travel expense by allowing me to deal with various tasks which do not require my physical presence.
  • ScreenConnect makes client participation easy. Little effort is required on the end users part.
  • The cost of ScreenConnect versus other companies was incredible. As a small business, this was a major factor in my decision.
  • The quality of the connection between the host and client is extremely good. Very little lag is noticed when completing tasks on the remote PC.
  • Connecting with others for meetings is simple and effective.
  • File transfers can be slightly confusing but not a major issue.
  • The mobile app does not allow you to save credentials. Touch ID would be a great benefit.
  • Mobile App appears to be simply loading the website. An app designed specifically for the host may allow for better interaction.
  • ScreenConnect has allowed me to save traveling expense to clients outside of my immediate location.
  • Being able to work on multiple clients machines at the same time allows me to multiply my hourly income.
  • The cost of the software was covered in one remote session with a client 4 states away that I would not have been able to help without it.
  • Clients are more comfortable knowing that in an emergency immediate help is available even when at another client.
When making the decision to purchase a remote support software there were three main factors. The first was cost. The second was the quality of the connection between the host and client. Third was ease of use. After using free options and testing the others I found most free versions were simply not responsive enough and frustrating to use. The others worked well and had great support and the interface with GoToAssist was actually better than ScreenConnect. However, NOT ONE place came close to the quality and cost of ScreenConnect. The price point of ScreenConnect and its quality product makes it a perfect option for smaller businesses who do not want to break the bank on remote support software.
Screenconnect is perfect for those client situations that only require a little bit of time to correct but would require more than 15 minutes of drive time. The fact that you can immediately meet the need of a customer 600 miles away in an emergency is priceless. One of my favorite benefits of using ScreenConnect is being able to work on client machines after hours from my home office.

Using ScreenConnect

1 - As the sole proprietor and tech of Securefix I operate all facets of the business, I am responsible for invoicing, budgeting, software support, hardware support, network support, sales and accounting. I also work directly with sub contractors on projects which require additional resources. ScreenConnect is very important in collaboration for meetings and information sharing in addition to technical support.
1 - ScreenConnect in and of itself does not require a great depth of technical knowledge. However an understanding of the basics of its purpose and abilities is vital to ensure the operator can function in a expedited manner to ensure quick response and action when working with a client. Failure to take the time to learn the software will result in frustration and delay while in use.
  • Remote support for organizations beyond reasonable travel distants for support.
  • After hours work which allows work offsite during not business affected hours.
  • Collaboration of screen sharing during product development meetings.
  • Being able to allow my graphics contractor to access a file on my machine and make changes while I watch and give realtime feedback.
There is still no other vendor that can meet its offerings at the same cost.

Evaluating ScreenConnect and Competitors

Yes - ScreenConnect replaced RemotePC when I finally decided it was time to get a paid remote support software. The RemotePC paid version was no better than their free option when it came to quality and the price was not very competitive with much better offerings. GoToAssist was my first choice for remote support software but the cost was more that I was willing to spend compared to that of ScreenConnect which is also a great product.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
The fact that ScreenConnect was able to offer all the of options I needed in a package that was easy to use and integrate into my support structure combined with the cost of an annual subscription made choosing it a no brainer. Really the reasonable price won me over in the end.
I am not sure that I would have changed my process for selecting ScreenConnect. I researched what others were using and the pros and cons from potential providers and after narrowing it down to GoToAssist and ScreenConnect, I contacted each for the best price they could offer. Both gave me quotes and ScreenConnect was considerably less.
