Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Semrush is our go to SEO and SEA research tool, we use it to analyze the competition, make keyword lists.
With all the SEO tools out there I find Semrush easy to use and complete with all the functions you need (sometimes to much), to do everything around SEO for your website.

The main thing I really like is that you can make a fast list of SERP features of specific keyword, and make a short list of it for easy snippet spots in Google, we where able to win many top positions this way. :)

Pros and Cons

Fast list of SEP Features for easy snippet positions.
Spying on competitions keywords and make a quick list of them (know what you are missing!)
Spying on advertisings of the competition, know what works for them!

Pricing model can ramp up fast, they have all this small add on packs that are $$$.
Keyword research often shows keywords of other languages even when you filter it out.

Return on Investment

Able to claim 20 top positions for a small site with snippet keywords.
Add on for our editors in Wordpress to easy ad keywords and rank the page, this saves a lot of time, and helps them to ad some nice keywords.
Able to almost double the traffic to 1 big website by spying on the competition, we where able to find new subjects we never thought about.

Alternatives Considered

SE Ranking, Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, Google Search Console and KWFinder

Semrush is an all in 1 tool for SEO and SEA, and does specific things really well even better then the competition.
The mean issue i could have with Semrush is the pricing, for $119 a month you get the full tool but with limitations of projects, users etc.
When you wanna add more you need to open your wallet or upgrade to the next sub that is $229 (wait for a nice deal where they give you 30-40% off on an annual sub).

But if you are a company and you have at least 5-10 projects running on it it will earn it self back easy.

Still by far 1 of the better SEO tools i ever used!

If you look into SEO tools there are many players in the market. And 1 is not really better then the other in my opinion but does specific things better. If you look at the top players you get Semrush, Ahrefs and SERanking is getting there.

For me Semrush does a good job at competition analyses, and finding those nice snippet keywords to grab.
But if I want more in depth link building research I tempt to use Ahrefs more.
If I have many small projects, want to give my costumers position tracking and nice reports, I use SERanking (with Semrush there is a project limit and you have to break bank if you want to use white label reports....).

A complete SEO / SEA tool for a fair price, still 1 of the top tools in the market!
