Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Skype for internal communication. It is primarily used for communications between teams to send instant messages. It is also used for discussing issues while doing the integration for end-to-end testing by making use of screen sharing. When using screen share, it is easier to find bugs/defects in the code which helps a lot.

Amazon Chime

Skype is a great tool for communicating with peers. It's also useful for screen sharing and having meetings through video conferencing. End-to-end testing is possible through Skype, as well. It integrates well with Outlook and setting up meetings is quick and easy. Adding conferencing and group conversations can be considered an added feature that some of its competitors don't offer.

Support Rating

Skype is a great tool for communicating and integrating with other services, like Outlook for meetings. The app is responsive across various devices, so you can use it over a tablet, phone or desktop. Messages are saved in Outlook's saved history if you miss a conversation or are away from your desk. Apart from remote login, I don't think it has any drawbacks.

It is used for communicating with other colleagues and works best for instant communication. It is also used for screen sharing, which helps in collaboration with other teams during end-to-end testing scenarios. It is less appropriate if you are presenting in front of the team and someone pings you for something in the middle of the meeting. It should have a feature to avoid those scenarios.
