Overall Satisfaction with Skype

Collaborations, chat, video conferencing and meetings

Pros

  • Collaboration
  • Meetings
  • Video Conferencing

Cons

  • Cost
  • VoIP
  • File Transfer
  • Negative impact on expense calling to Non Skype VoIP Numbers
  • More recent software release versions have become unreliable and problematic
  • Issues with cell phone registration
All of these other products have kept up with advancements in VoIP and communication technology and have expanded their portfolio of grouped services with their applications while Skype has been pretty stagnant

Do you think Skype (discontinued) delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Skype (discontinued)'s feature set?

No

Did Skype (discontinued) live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Skype (discontinued) go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Skype (discontinued) again?

No

Since the pandemic Skype in my opinion has put little into R&D and advanced features. It has limited functionality that no longer makes it a leader in the industry anymore. While it works for video conferencing and meetings, most users have migrated to teams, Zoom, 8x8, or other products that have much functionality and features including in their software suites
