Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Slack is being used throughout the organization. We use Slack for our "crisis announcements" and it addresses how the users and management communicate throughout the organization.

Pros and Cons

We've created our own Slack channel as a security department to direct message with each other.
Slack has a thread for "kudos", and it's nice to give team members kudos on a job well done.

Better understanding of how to create a channel and effectively managing it.

Return on Investment

Positive impact. Our customer uses Slack, and it's a good way to interact with them.

Alternatives Considered

Skype for Business (formerly Lync)

Slack is mobile-friendly, whereas Lync/Skype was not mobile-friendly. Communication is a bit easier especially being able to be mobile with Slack

I do like Slack as it's mobile and desktop friendly. I've downloaded the app as it's much easier to communicate on the go rather than having to sit at my desk constantly to use it.
