Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Slack is used across all of the organization to help us communicate, collaborate, align and focus. I think it is the killer productivity app that helps us be more efficient on our day-to-day. The multiplicity of integrations is what generates the most value. The possibility of creating channels and threads is very helpful.

Pros and Cons

Works on any device.
Integrated with a lot of PM tools.

Reliability issues. Sometimes the app stops working.
Notifications are very annoying.

Return on Investment

It has made us more efficient, helping us to increase sales.
Costs have gone a bit up because of the service charge.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams

I think Microsoft Teams is a really big competitor to Slack, because of its great integration with Microsoft´s suite of products. However, Slack works better with the integration of independent products making it a more flexible product. I would make sure to do a research of my needs before committing to any provider.

I never encountered any issues working with them. Most of the information you need can be found online without the need to contact support.

I think Slack is a really good product for organizations of all sizes. It works for startups and big corporations alike. Since it can be expensive according to the plan you choose, it is really important to make sure you take full advantage of its functionalities and not use it only as a chat software, since there are cheaper alternatives for that.
