Overall Satisfaction with Slack

We use Slack to collaborate, share files, create announcements and to drive our company culture. Slack is also used as another tool in our toolbelt to find answers to common questions and to find resources. It is also a great way to engage with people that work beyond my immediate department as well.

Pros

  • Simple creation of channels
  • Reduces Emails
  • User Friendly interface

Cons

  • Wish I could organize my "save for later" items into folders. It would be nice to store all of the golden nuggets of information I learn. Even better if we could export it out into a word doc to turn into a real article or resource!
  • Use AI to help us find themes around topics and prepare a summary every week/end of day/month so that the entire team can absorb all conversations into one clean space
  • Reduces response time between team members
  • Reduces asking repeated questions
  • Excellent repository of knowledge
Slack gets an 8/10 from me because it truly revolutionizes workplace communication. The channels and threads keep everything organized, and file sharing is a breeze. I love how it integrates with all my other apps, making my workflow smoother. While the notifications can be a bit much sometimes, and I might lose important messages amongst all the activity, the boost in productivity and reduction in email clutter makes it a winner.
Slack has a far superior UI that makes information easier to find and use. It has better organizational features across the top to organize content. Slack is constantly evolving with new features, while Teams is slower to roll out anything new.
