Overall Satisfaction with Slack
We primarily use it for internal team communication and as a shared channel for external teams. One of the major advantages of the tool is its ability to manage users in a way that ensures the information remains confidential to the organization even when they leave, unlike other market alternatives.
Pros
- Communication by messages.
- Communication through specific channels.
- Direct communication between users.
- Video and audio communication.
Cons
- Text formatting with a focus on programming codes.
- Ease of interacting with fun gifs (this is very bad nowadays).
- Connecting to different organizations within the same interface is not easy, as it lacks intuitiveness.
- Speed in internal communication.
- Connection as a common channel between my team and the teams of third-party companies.
- Control over the information of the employees who eventually leave the team.
Slack would be the "business" alternative to Discord, although the latter's focus is on younger audiences and video gamers. I've used it in my company, much like Slack. Both share similar features, but Slack is better suited to the business context, especially considering the information control and confidentiality required for corporate activities.
