Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Slack is used primarily as a tool for communication. Whenever there is an immediate need, Slack's the best way to touch base with members , especially with remote work. While most of the communication is direct, there are channels we use for different groups and announcements.
Pros
- Mass communication- Channels that reach company wide distribution
- One on one communication- Especially important when working remote
- Employee engagement- channels that are gears to subject outside of work .Ex. Employees are able to share important personal milestones with their coworkers
Cons
- Despite having video meeting ability, we still primarily use zoom. I'm not sure why but maybe Slack's focus is just internal?
- I see app integration, but don't know how that's useful. Maybe more emphasis on how it would help?
- Share more info on what other useful features Wrike has.
- Provides immediate feedback on urgent matter. That the most important thing
- Ability to share documents.
- Mass communication
I used teams at my previous job and loved it. When I came to my current job, I felt very uneasy with switching to Slack. It wasn't that it was hard to learn or that it didn't do that same thing, it was just a little bit of a learning curve. Also, at my last job, Microsoft Teams was used for all video meeting even when there were external parties. At my current job, Slack video is not used at all and instead Zoom is used for meeting internal or external.
