Simple, Intuitive and Fun
Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Our engineering team heavily relies on Slack to collaborate across geographies and timezones. Emails often felt slow and fragmented for our cross-functional work, and Slack solves it with clear channel organization and easy integrations with tools like Jira/ Github/ Zoom.
Beyond this, Slack has been phenomenal for building stronger team culture - be it sharing wins, quick team updates, and even for fun conversations. This ensures the team stays connected even when spread across offices.

Pros
- Great collaboration in an organised manner reduces the chaos of long email chains while also catering for team fun
- Seamless integrations with other tools make project updates and alerts flow directly into channels
- Adds the fun element to our daily communication and connects folks from across the regions
Cons
- It gets tough to find older conversatons/ files in hyper active channels
- At times, the Slack overloads me with a lot of notifications and it becomes hard to go through them.
- Better ways to track or pin important conversations is appreciated. Difficult to track threads
- Faster decision making improving delivery timelines
- Productivity boost with integrations to other tools reduced context switching
- Fosters stronger team bonding and connectedness
Slack offers a fresh look and feel, and has felt more natural and engaging when compared to Teams or Google Chat. Teams felt heavy and less intuitive while G Chat lacks integrations and community feel. Slack strikes a balance by being simple enough for everyday use while strong enough to handle cross-functional collaboration.
