Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop
Splashtop is being used in our organization (A K-12 School District) across all devices. Mainly we use MacBooks. We originally used Splashtop for remote desktop support. We had some minor difficulty with deployment due to Apple's increased security settings, however that is unavoidable. Splashtop has continued to grow their offerings and now has many remote management solutions baked right in. I love that we can now use it to update the device's OS and applications. This has made remote management and support off our network much more painless and our staff do not have to wait nearly as long for simple remote fixes.
Pros
- Device Organization / UI
- Remote Desktop Support
- The new OS update feature
Cons
- Provide a way to mass update streamers / request the update instead of having to do it from the device's page in the Admin console
- Offer more applications in the Management feature for Mac (update apps and pushing apps)
- A bit more focus on Mac deployment
- A dream would be for iPad or Chromebook remote desktop streamer function.
- We have to travel way less than previously to do things such as adding a printer or software to a computer
I think Splashtop has provided as a very secure remote access solution. The baked in email verification for nearly every login gives me a great peace of mind.
Onboarding was great, we had some hiccups due to our MDM but our onboarding support (Anthony M) was a huge help and even followed up if we forgot to reply
