Splashtop Streamer Review
Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop
We have been using Splashtop's remote access throughout the whole org to remotely access business machines. We as IT utilizing it at its fullest to provide tech support to end users effectively.
Couple features that I find very helpful to me:
1) WAN/LAN IP addresses:
while troubleshooting DHCP, DNS related errors, instead of asking user to follow tedious steps and get info, we can directly view these details. WAN info help us make a guess of their physical location if they are working from office or home.
2) Activity status:
If I have to work on a machine, I can quickly see if the machine is currently being used or free to work on.
3) Last online/Offline.
4) I can create groups and allow access to particular machines to the clients or departments.

Pros
- basic system overview of computer in its properties
- which user is currently logged in
- whether device is on domain environment or on workgroup
Cons
- create groups/teams and set remote machine permissions. Essentially to apply ACLs on multiple groups. right now, it applies to whole tenant.
- in case of internet outage, the current remote session gets stuck and seldom reconnects on its own. Most of the time we have to close and reconnect the session to reestablish it
- history of Splashtop streamer's shutdown/power on logs
- IT can work flexibly offsite and still provide adequate services to the client remotely.
The 2FA is proving to be very essential for us as we are using it in healthcare industry and privacy is a primary objective there.
it was really easy to generate deployment codes and send it out to users to set it up. This was a real breeze.
