Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop
We use Splashtop to provide immediate ad-hoc support on our corporate network of servers and workstations. It's used solely by our IT personnel to assist 150 users worldwide hybrid and remote. For example, when a user needs new software installed on a desktop, Splashtop allows us to provide almost instant satisfaction to the end user without any heavy lifting on the user's part.
Pros
- Clear, hi-def desktop streaming
- Secure and encrypted communications
- Lots of features
- SOC II compliant
- OS agnostic - Linux, Windows, MAC
Cons
- While Linux streaming works, it's a bit buggy
- Sometimes problematic over VPNs
- Audio issues, will cut off or redirect a zoom audio to the remote viewer
- Much lower cost than other remote help products
- Less time lost assisting staff and clients, no travel costs
- Quick and efficient diagnosis of problems when we can see the actual issue
- Flexibility for the technician, ability to work from anywhere
Splashtop completely meets our needs by using 256-bit AES encryption and TLS, two factor authentication, role based administration, logging and it's compliant with SOC II, HIPPA and GDPR. Integration with my SSO adds that next layer of security allowing me to control security access from Active Directory. I have 100% faith in Splashtop to keep our systems and data secure.
Deployment to clients is quick, easy and can be automated using group policy and MSI installers. The few exceptions with 3 or 4 individual machines turned to be issues caused by other software on each of those machines themselves. There was very minimal training for technicians as the product was very intuitive to operate.
