Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop

Splashtop is oftentimes used to remote into computers when they're having an issue for us and myself or the other IT are remote, or used in workplace scenarios where there might not be a monitor connected (for example, servers mainly). It's a very useful tool for that, as well as starting to automate certain tasks with features they've started adding more recently.

Pros

  • Automating basic mundane tasks (for example, restarting all the computers in this department on a certain time, etc.)

Cons

  • Some of the update management functionality seemed a bit hard to grasp or wonky.
  • The Remote Access always needs a Windows login on the machine to validate you're allowed for security. I know there are some ways to manage this but I feel like the option to disable for some contexts would be useful as you have to have Splashtop installed anyways to remote it.
  • Saved around 60% of time for remote employees so they didn't have to drive in and drop off their tech to get any issue fixed.
  • Prevented at least 30% of issues from escalating as I could simply remote in and diagnose quicker.
  • Saved IT 1000's of hours of restarting and mundane maintenance task by automating everything to run at set times across all machines with Splashtop installed.
Never had to connect with someone. However their support articles and emails are amazing to keep in the loop with their gameplans and new/upcoming features.
Very secure, 2fa is great and easy. I also mentioned you need a Windows login to access/remote into any PC even if they have Splashtop installed so overall it's incredibly secure. There's also varying levels of security you can add ontop such as needing a pin if necessary to login ontop of the Windows login.
Very quickly. Installed Splashtop streamer on necessary machines, installed Splashtop Business to remote in. Set up restart times and scripts to run. Super seamless and quick.

Splashtop is wonderful for remote access. I've never had an issue where it's been unusable in varied network conditions and it performs well with surprisingly high quality throughout everything. The user interface and seamlessness of everything "just works" is great. Splashtop is also very useful for automating and/or running scripts lately. Lastly, I know they have some other management functions that I haven't dabbled in much with but overall the software is great and constantly improving.
