Splashtop for remote Video Editing
Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop
As a Professional Videomaker and Video Editor, I often need to use multiple remote Workstations at work. Splashtop is the perfect solution for me. The possibility to have also 2 different windows when I use a monitor connected to my laptop, is great. Something I could not do with AnyDesk or TeamViewer. I'm also able to connect a bluetooth mouse to my Android phone when I need a correction or an edit on the fly for my clients even if I am not on my laptop!
Pros
- I can remotely edit a video with zero latency when both pc are on fiber connection
- I can customize the remote monitors resolutions independently
- I can easily move files between Workstations with native FTP functionality
- Splashtop can play remote audio from a MAC OS without the need of third party app
Cons
- Sometimes the diagnostic tool is a bit too slow
- I would like to resize the keyboard overlay in the mobile app
- Splashtop allows me to work remotely, which let me save a good amount of time
I work for a national public broadcasting company, and security is very important when it comes to remote access. Splashtop features are perfect.
If you know how to install a program, you can also be able to easily get up and running Splashtop. It's easy also to access web panel and deploy your personal custom Installer.
Yes - Teamviewer and Anydesk. They lack the functionality we use in Video editing environment, like separated windows and audio issue related to mac-pc remote sessions.
