Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

Implementation was fairly straight forward, but when the new versions came out they often confused my clients and staff. In trying to make things flashier they reduced usability and introduced complexity when it wasn't needed.
Attended and unattended remote access to computers.

Pros

  • Remote access
  • Remote file transfer
  • Online Dashboard

Cons

  • In my experience, updates that break the product
  • In my opinion, subscription hard to cancel
  • In my opinion, terrible 28-day notice policy that tricks customers into paying for another year
  • When it worked, it was great to have unattended access to dozens of computers
  • Old interface was really simple to use, although, I think the new one leaves a lot to be desired still in 2025
Back in the day TeamViewer was great, but the company changed ownership and, in my opinion, things have gone downhill.

When it was good, it was good, but that was years ago. TeamViewer used to be a leader in the remote access space and I was a happy customer for many years. The last few years of updates have caused major issues for us which caused countless hours of pain and troubleshooting. How they managed to make the product worse overtime is beyond me.

What's even more terrible is my experience when trying to cancel. It took me multiple weeks to even learn how to do this, and I finally learned that there is an entirely separate account and website that governs the billing side. It appears to me that they used to have a normal cancel button in the main TeamViewer dashboard (where you do 100% of the functions of the service) but they moved it somewhere else. The whole process was unnecessarily difficult, but makes sense to me if they are intentionally trying to make it hard to cancel.

Once you do cancel, you may learn that they claim you need to notify them 28 days before the renewal date or you owe them whatever new price they choose for another full year of service. I think it's criminal, and there are hundreds of complaints of this on the Better Business Bureau, their Google pages for their Florida and Germany offices, and on the web.

My advice is to stay away from any company that relies on, in my opinion, predatory contract and cancellation practices, especially now that, in my opinion, their remote services are outclassed by so many other providers.

Hi Valeria, thank you for your message. I did submit a ticket in February regarding this, but was refused at the time. I have recently been contacted by a collections agency regarding this and informed them that I am disputing this debt. Any help you can provide to resolve this will be appreciated. If you still think I should submit a ticket, what information should I include? I would be happy to put this matter behind me and let others know that TeamViewer helped me get it fixed.
