TeamViewer - what you need to know when deciding.
Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
TeamViewer is used to assist clients experiencing computer and laptop issues. We utilize tools like TeamViewer to remotely access our client computers. This allows us to quickly and efficiently access their devices without meeting in person. This gives us an expanded market by being remote and flexible on how we "meet". Remote support is a core function of our Managed IT services.
Pros
- Fast remote connections.
- Support for windows and mac OS.
- Secure connections.
- Easy console to manage devices.
- Simple connection options.
Cons
- Patch management requires a higher tier.
- No Linux patching.
- Stronger endpoint management.
- Cost savings from not having to travel.
- Greater Roi because of remote access support capabilities.
- Easy deployment and cost effective.
The economic benefit was immediate because the free tier was sufficient to support our client base.
TeamViewer is a good product for individuals and smaller businesses. As needs get more complex and integrated, we shift to platforms like NinjaOne and Atera to manage routines, run group scripts, and policies. I would say TeamViewer competes well in pure remote access, but the foundational product is better suited for smaller environments.
