Overall Satisfaction with Trello

I use Trello to quickly keep track of the various projects and tasks that myself and my team are responsible for. It's solid on its own, but with certain power-ups I'm able to get even more insight into our current progress. I've found it to be much easier to explain to others and get them using versus most other project management tools.
  • Easy to use - Most people intuitively understand how to use it and understand the status of various tasks and projects.
  • Easy to visualize - I can quickly glance at our boards and understand the status of projects and what needs to happen next.
  • Affordable - It's well worth the price in terms of time saved versus other tools.
  • It can easily become a cluttered visual mess if you're not careful. I'd like to see some attachments handled differently to help this.
  • Some workflows take a few too many clicks. Nothing time consuming, but seconds add up over time.
  • There are a few quirks when using the desktop app along with power-ups. Very minor but would love to see them addressed.
  • The quick setup means you can select Trello and quickly turn your focus on the actual project work.
  • Affordability means it can scale with you as your teams and projects grow.
  • No negatives I can think of in terms of ROI.
Trello is visually more appealing and easier to understand by simply looking at it. When it comes to sharing my board with others, they can quickly (within seconds) see our progress, which gets them excited and buys me more momentum. Asana is great, but it takes a little bit of time to understand progress if you're not living in the project every day.
I'm giving Trello a 10 for customer support because I've never needed support. The help docs, walkthroughs, etc are all super easy to use and understand. The best support is the support that is built into the product itself and Trello has truly nailed it in this regard.
If you don't require ridiculously detailed tracking of projects, Trello is a great solution. It can help from the very basic all the way to the fairly detailed. It's when you get into the ridiculously detailing project tracking needs that Trello simply won't help you. It's made for simplicity. I haven't run into any situations myself where Trello didn't help but given the tracking, some project teams do I know those situations are out there where it won't work.

Using Trello

Trello is incredibly easy to get set up as their initial walk-through guide can get you set up and ready to go in minutes. From there it continues to be easy to use by making it fun and simple to move items within various stages/lists. I've used it for home projects, personal tracking, and major projects. It's been great for all use cases.
