Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We use Trinet as part of our payroll services for one of our accounting clients.
  • Customer Service - I am able to get someone online or on the phone when I need them.
  • Compliance - we have never had an issue with payroll tax or other employment compliance issue.
  • Ease of Use - the default payroll option makes regular payroll cycles very easy.
  • Reporting - While the reports contain the relevant information, they are awkward to pull from the website (especially in PDF). It takes a lot of clicks and scrolling to get a single report.
  • Update: They are rolling out revisions to their website, so I am excited to see if they have made improvements to the reporting
  • Website navigation - it may be that I do not spend very much time on the site, but the website does not seem intuitive to me and I find myself "exploring" a lot before I find the screen I want.

The conversion from our former payroll provider was relatively easy. Email notifications are helpful and timely. I always am able to get a service agent on the phone, if needed.

I was surprised to discover that our client services associate had left the company. I did not find out until I tried to email and received an out of office message that they were out "for the week". When I contacted one of the alternative agents listed in the email, I was told that my agent was no longer with the company.

Points off for reporting and website navigation. I am hopeful that the new website will show improvements in this area.

  • I spend much less time communicating per-payroll information.
  • I spend more time pulling reports.
  • Paychex and ADP

I have not experienced any issues with payroll through Trinet. I have had clients complain about errors when using both Paychex and ADP as providers.

Login/website security is less of a hassle with TriNet. I am satisfied that the website is secure, and I am not required to jump through hoops (repeated password changes, account disabling after a short inactive period, etc).

It is well suited for the "payroll in a box" solution to offer straightforward salaried payroll and benefits in one place. I think that, if I had a payroll that changed often (hourly or commissioned employees) I would find the interface less appealing.

Ran smoothly, required quite a bit of work on our end to complete worksheets rather than providing information and having Trinet do it
