Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

HR platform for the company. Payroll. Benefits. We do not use the retirement package offered by TriNet. But TriNet deducts payroll earmarked for retirement. We show vacation days, but we use the predecessor system for managing user allotment.

Pros

  • Easy access to information.
  • Management reports are available.
  • Many highly skilled technical / service contacts.

Cons

  • A recent problem with retirement deductions for 50+ SICUP. This took about six weeks to resolve with many iterations. Some of the service agents were good, some were not as good. The problem started with a TriNet software enhancement that was faulty.
  • Connect360 is helpful for some cases, but there can be slow responses.
  • The above points make us want more personal contact. That said, prior to Connect360, we have shuffled through a new service rep annually.
  • Service fees are very high, especially for a mostly automated process. TriNet has helped us with some rebate options. Competitors offer a lower price package (nominally similar).
Generally, the service team is very competent on a broad set of topics. We had a recent case with a leave of absence, and they guided us well through a challenging process. For this, we were given a specialist. Similar, with a retirement deduction problem. After some challenges, we were connected to a senior manager and the process was streamlined. Although the follow-on implementation by other staff still had problems.
The software and reports are clear. As a manager, I can obtain needed information quickly.
  • Trinet facilitates employee privacy issues, by not having to submit certain information to their manager.
  • Trinet insurance premiums are lower than available to us before when we did not have a 50% concentration of employees in one state.
