Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

PEO plus benefits program, payroll, shared HR responsibilities
  • Benefits portal for employees
  • Payroll module and calendar
  • 401k loan management
  • System can be challenging to navigate for employees with multiple nav options on left and upper areas or subjects are not easily related to what is in their mind; multiple handbooks and similar
  • Customer service has improved in the last year but there is still room for improvement. Some tickets/cases simply take way too long with little communication while open. Best improvement is putting more power in the hands of the front line.
  • Managing unusual circumstances with payroll
The TriNet customer service is improving. That is tangible. Simultaneously, any challenging question or any benefit change can take weeks on end with no communication during the management of the case.
There is just so much information in the system and sometimes it is attached to other systems in a way that it's hard to know where to find things and a TriNet rep needs to walk you through finding it. Using chat they tend to copy and paste huge strings of instructions into the chat which is challenging to test while scrolling through all that text.
  • Payroll accuracy
  • Managing multi-state taxes and reporting
  • tax forms
  • COBRA
  • benefits options and management
  • HR compliance
We did go to some seminars TriNet offered during COVID and they were helpful with developing staff communications. We were already predominately a remote work force but had a small percentage of staff in the office and this helped with allowing those to go home. We didn't have layoffs or similar so although TriNet offered quite a bit in that arena, we had no use case for that.

Do you think TriNet delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with TriNet's feature set?

Yes

Did TriNet live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of TriNet go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy TriNet again?

Yes

TriNet is great for a small organization with a remote workforce. A predominate feature is the depth and breadth of health/dental/vision/life and similar benefits the employees can select from that allows them to pick carriers that are top in their own state. Having PEO partner is helpful in more strenuous human resources issues and its nice to share responsibility for items like COBRA or writing a handbook or similar within a small org and utilize this for outsourcing.
