TriNet is great for small companies wanting to offer a wide range of health/dental/vision benefits and have an HR partner
Overall Satisfaction with TriNet
PEO plus benefits program, payroll, shared HR responsibilities
Pros
- Benefits portal for employees
- Payroll module and calendar
- 401k loan management
Cons
- System can be challenging to navigate for employees with multiple nav options on left and upper areas or subjects are not easily related to what is in their mind; multiple handbooks and similar
- Customer service has improved in the last year but there is still room for improvement. Some tickets/cases simply take way too long with little communication while open. Best improvement is putting more power in the hands of the front line.
- Managing unusual circumstances with payroll
- Payroll accuracy
- Managing multi-state taxes and reporting
- tax forms
- COBRA
- benefits options and management
- HR compliance
We did go to some seminars TriNet offered during COVID and they were helpful with developing staff communications. We were already predominately a remote work force but had a small percentage of staff in the office and this helped with allowing those to go home. We didn't have layoffs or similar so although TriNet offered quite a bit in that arena, we had no use case for that.
