Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

TriNet is Praos Health's outsourced HR organization. We use them primarily for payroll, healthcare benefits, and any critical HR-related matters. We rely on their service when we have legal questions or concerns about employment. They are also responsible for managing employment tax filings for the various states we use.

Pros

  • Service - Our rep Julie is ALWAYS attentive and gets timely answers when needed.
  • Payroll - people get paid like clockwork.
  • Benefits - TriNet has by far the most competitive benefits rates/options.

Cons

  • The software version we use (not the advanced Zenefits platform), is a bit clunky to use.
  • The mobile experience on the software is only okay, at best.
  • We're new to TriNet, though I have used it in the past. They make the two most important things to a business—payroll and benefits—work 100% efficiently. While there are many "other" services I could use, including performance reviews, ATS, and onboarding, my focus with TriNet is on payroll and benefits. If people get paid (smoothly) and benefits are covered, life runs well for a CEO (me) in a young company.
  • The service I receive is extraordinary. I love the fact that I have one dedicated rep. Although there is "backup" support, I like working with my rep whenever possible. I know she "cares," and that means I'm 100% confident she will track down answers for me.
Everything, including the key factors, payroll, benefits, and service, is a 10. The software, particularly as a mobile experience, is just so-so.
Perfect. My rep always takes care of me and my company (Praos Health).
I liked Rippling's software better than TriNet. However, the pricing on employee benefits was through the roof, and they don't offer many selections/options. If it was a software only decision, I would go with Rippling (the 2.0 version of Zenefits which TriNet offers). However, the software isn't a major need, compared to smooth payroll and benefits that I get from TriNet (and great service). I'm happy at TriNet long term as long as the health insurance rates aren't exhorbinant.

Do you think TriNet delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with TriNet's feature set?

Yes

Did TriNet live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of TriNet go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy TriNet again?

Yes

For the areas I outlined previously, TriNet is the perfect solution for a young company (start up) to get 1) payroll services, 2) benefits (large offering, best rates), and support when critical issues come about and you don't have an HR Dept. The rates are the best. The people I work with are why I'd keep coming back.

Evaluating TriNet and Competitors

Yes - Internal corporate payroll benefits from a parent company, which is split off to become independent.
  • Ease of Use
Top level services, which include payroll and benefits at the most competitive rates.
I wouldn't change a thing other than being smarter about breaking down benefits costs and administration earlier on.
