Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

We were looking for a product which bridged the gap between a fully-fledged CRM and a more simple sales tool. My role was to map the new process to a temporary cloud application, ensuring ease of migration when implementing the future ERP system. The business owner and sales team were involved in the product evaluation.
  • To understand my options (i.e. build my short list or long list)
  • To compare products
  • To determine what to ask a vendor
  • To see what other users think of the product I am currently using
One of the important elements for us was being able to test drive the application for free. TrustRadius allowed us to find nearly 15 options for our long list based on a number of requirements like trial or freemium, email integration, SSO etc.
We looked for reviews which described the product benefits beyond the content on the vendor website. The most valuable reviews described the changes brought about in the company after implementation. After that, reviews which highlighted fatal flaws were extremely useful.
Looking at other's real world reviews actually broadened our requirements and helped us to then become even more specific about our business needs. Features are only useful when described through experiences.
  • Breadth of applications available for review
  • Inability for vendor to sway results
  • Application reviews are across a very large array of features.
  • Sometimes reviewers are less objective in their reviews than I would want. Reviews which are clearly biased should be able to get voted down by readers.
I used capterra and some specific blog posts from established reviewers to find the right answers.
TrustRadius appears to cover more data points in a side by side comparison. It also attracts users who are more willing to share detailed reviews about their experience with a given product.
There are still plenty of gaps due to a lack of data. Trials of software are now required to bolster reviews.
