Overall Satisfaction with Vidyard

We use Vidyard and GoVideo for several use cases at RouteThis:

  • Marketing uses it to host videos that capture leads and data on inbounds
  • Sales uses it to send personalized videos to leads inside emails
  • Product and support uses it to create how-tos and answer questions customers have
  • Internally I also wish to use it in future to shoot quick internal videos and to give internal product updates
  • Easy to host video and customize the look of the player
  • Easy to integrate/embed video onto your websites
  • Top-tier lead capture an analytics on video watching
  • With the GoVideo product, shooting a video with product screen captures is easier than with any other software
  • Amazing customer support
  • Backend user interface is a bit cumbersome
  • If you use the Vidyard hosting pages they aren't very customizable
  • Leads Vidyard's videos capture produce more revenue than the cost of Vidyard's service, so we're positive on ROI right there
  • Intangible boosts on opens, follow throughs by using their 1-to-1 videos in emails
Youtube and Vimeo, no comparison. Analytics and CRM integration just aren't there. Obviously not focused on businesses and the customer support isn't there even though they do technically host videos. They just do a way worse job.

Wistia is definitely less focused on SaaS and you can tell. Even their ads are pointed towards SMBs and creators.

Vidyard is really the only logical choice for enterprise.
Definitely useful for larger SaaS businesses who have a sales process created and can see where video fits in. GoVideo lets employees quickly create video without needing equipment, planning etc. But for videos for a larger audience you're going to want some in-house video skills or budget to hire out. As well, a lot of Vidyard's real value comes when you have enough inbounds to lead capture and gather analytics on those visitors.

Using Vidyard

30 - Vidyard is used across our Marketing team (BDRs), Sales team (AM and AE), as well as Customer Experience (Customer Success, Launch, and Support).
2 - Vidyard is dead simple to support, we have 2 administrators who can create accounts for new hires and make sure they have the right permissions. We have created a training guide for new hires and they can onboard themselves onto the platform with little to no formal training. We so have one SME who can answer questions or defer to our Vidyard success manager if required.
  • Video hosting
  • Video analytics and tracking
  • Personalized video outreach
  • Custom support videos
  • CSMs use Vidyard to introduce themselves to new accounts and establish an initial relationship
  • Internally, we use Vidyard to create and host how-to videos and onboarding guides for new customers
  • Used to re-engage prospects who have ghosted using very personalized videos and thumbnail images
  • Internal feature/product demos and roadmap
  • Customer orientation videos as part of launch process
Vidyard has become a core part of how we do business at our company. Our internal training videos are hosted on it, our website uses Vidyard videos, and customer-facing demos are all created and housed on Vidyard. It would be incredibly painful to switch providers and currently there is no reason to move away from it.
