Overall Satisfaction with Vidyard

For the most, part Vidyard is being used as a training tool, but we also use it for employee introductions. It's being used across the whole company. We've found that it is extremely helpful when we create knowledge base articles to be able to include a quick screencap video along with a write up. It's almost 100% necessary with more complex application setups I'd say.
  • Quick and easy to create screen-capped videos.
  • Set up an instructional library of videos.
  • Analytics of user watch time
  • Ability to gate videos after a certain amount of time
  • Set up of an action for the user to take after the video is complete.
  • For my main purposes, it has no cons. it does exactly what I want it to do.
  • When I embed vidyard into pages, sometimes it can be particular about getting sizing right for desktop/mobile
  • I don't love it when you screencap a video but it only is screencapping a particular tab, so if you need to change tabs for the video, it will not record the new tab you've opened. I understand that this is a feature, but i don't find it helpfu.
  • I can't speak to ROI, but I can certainly say that it is a huge time saver.
I just think vidyard is so easy and quick to use. There's so little that you need to learn about their user interface in order to get started. I'm also mostly just using it for a very simple function of screencap videos, but there are really no barriers here and I think they did a great job of simplifying this tool as much as possible and remove any barriers that would overwhelm or confuse the user.
Perhaps, these competitors have upped their game since I last used them, but I find Vidyard to be quicker to integrate into websites in that it takes less troubleshooting overall. Also, I'm not sure if these companies have quite the same ease of use when it comes to screen cap videos. By the time I got to using Vidyard it was the first time i had seen a simple chrome plugin for being able to make screen cap videos any time, within a couple seconds and a couple clicks. It was huge, now i'm used to it, and it's indispensable
I think Vidyard is great for some quick step by step how-to videos on how to use a particular software or a particular workflow. I also think that it's great for quick employee introduction videos. I don't think it's great for an overly complex situation, such as very detailed out of office documentation that you may want to refer back to several times over a period of days/weeks.

Using Vidyard

50 - I know that we use vidyard on our website, and I'm sure that our internal marketing team would be able to speak to the benefits they gain from using vidyard, as they are very data/metrics focused. However, I think even more we use vidyard as a training tool both internally and externally.
2 - We have just a couple of "Vidyard Experts" at my company, but i would say that they are very rarely needed for any type of support. I would say more that their main function with Vidyard at our company is to try to just push usage as much as possible, encouraging employees to save time and effort.
  • Internal training
  • External training
  • Employee introductions
  • Using it to capture website interactivity bugs when we QA
  • All new employees make a short vidyard video introducing themselves to the company
  • Talking through mock ups when we are not able to have facetime with a client to talk through their designs, or when it's a fairly minor design update
  • Company announcements
  • We could certainly use it more for lead gen on our site
  • We should have it more integrated in our knowledge base.
  • We could potentially cut down on the amount of knowledge transfer meetings by creating videos
Vidyard has become an integral part of our software stack. I can't imagine us not using vidyard at this point. I am sure that as time goes on we will continue to evaluate vidyard as well as competitors out there to decide whether we should continue with vidyard or not, but it certainly seems like for the time being, vidyard isn't going anywhere for us.

Integrating Vidyard

Integration is super easy as far as integrating a Vidyard video into a website. I haven't gotten into this much so far in my review, but Vidyard is also super powerful in that you can track how long users watch videos, set up CTAs or gates at certain points in the video, etc. Super useful data and functionality.

As far as integration into our company's software stack, it's been pretty quick and easy as well. We are still trying to push more usage overall, but because of the ease of use for Vidyard video creation and sharing, we've been able to integrate pretty seamlessly into most everyone at the company using vidyard at least a few times per week, and some several times daily.
