Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is currently being used primarily in IT. However, we are evaluating it for further use in the business. The Webex App primarily addresses the need for chatting between users. However, we have enjoyed the fact that it is the single application that can also launch Webex Meetings which is a company wide used application.

Pros and Cons

Realtime chat for company users.
Realtime alerts for subscribed spaces.
Launching Webex Meetings.

More feature compatibility with legacy applications like Jabber.

Return on Investment

It is cloud based and real-time alerts are appreciated.
Replaced Jabber at our business with more flexibility.

Alternatives Considered

Slack and Microsoft Teams

One big thing that we enjoyed with the Webex app was the ability to not have to create a new account for every single cloud instance we would be taking part in. That was one large limitation we experienced within the Microsoft Teams application. Logging into different cloud accounts was very tiring.

Support Rating

I enjoyed using Cisco TAC using the Webex App. It gave a support session a much more streamlined experience which helped early resolution of tickets.

Usability

The Webex App is very rich and very easy to navigate and use. I would feel confident putting the Webex App in front of any user and they would be able to navigate through the application very easily with little to no training. That is another example of good return on investment of the application.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for individuals who need real-time chat that is cloud based. Messages are readily available at all times, even when not on company premises.
I can't think of any examples of a time when the Webex application would not be suited for a business as it is very robust and feature rich.
