Overall Satisfaction with Webex App
We use Webex daily for internal company meetings. The use of Webex has increased dramatically since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as our work model has become almost 100% working from home. In addition, all business travel for internal meetings was strongly discouraged, so Webex became the default way to hold large workshops and cross-functional meetings
Pros
- Allows for small or large meetings
- Provides easy telephone access (if an internet connection is not optimal)
- Integrates with Outlook's calendar well
Cons
- Video conferencing
- Integration of chat with video
- Mobile app not as good as PC app
- Allows for faster communication
- Enables a work from home environment
- Increases global interactions
- Webex App
As expected, some employees feel disconnected from others and very isolated at home. This is especially true for those new to the company, or new to their teams. The informal transfer of information (water cooler conversations) definitely has value and this became impossible for employees working from home. Some employees also felt like they were always plugged-in, working much longing hours than they would have prior to a hybrid work environment.
Cisco's WebEx has helped to enable my organization to transition to a hybrid work environment. WebEx was the primary tool for virtual or remote meetings, but has since been replaced by Microsoft Teams. WebEx was the first tool and we likely would have had a much tougher transition without WebEx.
My coworkers and I have experienced the full gambit of hybrid work success and failures. We all enjoy the better work-life balance and flexibility. But we all acknowledge that connecting and building trust, especially when there is a new member of the team, has become much more difficult. We all think the tradeoff is worth it.
- Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business (formerly Lync) and now part of Microsoft Teams
Compared with Webex, Microsoft Teams has a more intuitive interface and better integration with Outlook. My organization was using Webex before the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to use it. We have now fully transitioned over to Microsoft Teams for smaller team meetings, with the exception being companywide or division wide meetings, which rely on WebEx.

Webex App Feature Ratings
Cisco Hybrid Work
- Working from anywhere (e.g., coffee shop, airport)
- Working from an office or other company space
- Working from home
My company implemented a hybrid work-solution for 100% of global employees (10,000+ total FTEs) in January 2021. All employees are allowed to work from any location (within their country-of-hire only due to taxation reasons). We have some of our physical offices open if anyone wants to go into the office. On average, anywhere between 10-30% of employees go into the office on any given day. All emloyees use Webex software to communicate online, including for meetings.
WebEx has a much simpler interface than similar remote meeting tools like MS Teams and Google Meets. WebEx also has a good balance of ease of use and extra features. The learning curve is much steeper with MS Teams, which is why my company decided to leverage our existing base of WebEx users and make it the default remote meeting software.

Using Webex App

- Virtual meetings

- Spaces for teams
Yes - The mobile interface for Webex has the same functions as the desktop version. But it’s slower than the mobile versions of Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Webex also shows others the type of device you connect from, so others can see when you are connected from the mobile app. I only use it as a last resort.
