It is used to create websites for clients who specifically request the use of it. It's an easy solution for clients who are not versed in the back end of web development as the WYSIWYG in Wix is extremely user-friendly to use for almost anyone and has a lot of options.

WordPress and Squarespace

Wix is a less aesthetically pleasing option in comparison to WordPress and Squarespace. WordPress is much more robust in regard to its capabilities, especially with SEO. Squarespace has better themes to use and is more pleasing to look at it however I think Wix's usability factor ranks higher in ease of use.

I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't know much about building a website and doesn't want to spend much money on it. Wix is extremely easy to use and very affordable. It has a lot of capabilities and is easy to learn. It's nice for people who want to change things often (such as text or photos) on their website and want to do it themselves rather than always having to either hire someone for a small change or having to pay for someone on retainer to do minuscule tasks like this.
