Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have integrated the WooCommerce on lot of our websites. It is e-Commerce plugin that can be installed on WordPress. It is very good plugin that provides us the way many e-Commerce features and that too for free. I recommend this to small to medium scale e-Commerce platforms to use that.

Usability

As mentioned earlier, it is free plugin allow us lot of good features like order processing, stock management, emailing etc. but it is not good when we large set SKUs, it becomes slow due to central storage of the products but I think it will be improved in upcoming version because orders were also part of the central storage and they have made that separate in latest versions.

Alternatives Considered

Adobe Commerce and Shopify

They both are great in terms of usability, Adobe Commerce (Magento) is powerful but provides limited customization than the WooCommerce whereas Shopify is not free and same it doesn't support the customization as much as other platforms do. WooCommerce is free and customizable and that is the great amongst others.

WooCommerce is well suited when your store is small or medium in scale. For large store WooCommerce is not suitable because of the way it stores the product. It stores the product in central table of posts and it becomes very slow when you have too much of products, blogs, variations etc.
