Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
- Centralize projects in one solution
- Manage digital work processes
We use Workfront to track and house all the information needed for any given project. We also use it to assign job numbers to help us track projects as they move back and forth between our team and our clients. It also helps us quickly find projects from years past.
Pros
- Good at housing all the necessary details for projects.
- Easy to assign work to our employees.
- Easy to transfer files so we don't have to email as much.
Cons
- The tool can be a bit complicated. There are lots of features we don't use, but there is no way to hide those or turn off so it feels a bit cumbersome.
- You will have to set all timelines for project templates yourself. We would love to see a feature where we can put in our tasks and assign a deadline, and then Workfront would automatically divide the time given amongst the tasks.
- Workfront has not eased our administrative burdens thus far.
We are in the process of reevaulating and looking for another project management system that better meets our needs.
We have not been able to get our clients on Workfront in the year and half we have been on the system because we are still having problems with our internal folks using the system effectively.
We have gone to some User Groups for Workfront, which were nice, however a lot of those folks had programming backgrounds and were able to write/alter code to make Workfront more efficient for them. We aren't that kind of business and don't have anyone on our staff capable of that. We really didn't think we would need that for this system to be useful.
